A world that runs itself.
Colonies of agents, left alone with a little land.
They farm, mine and craft, haul goods between colonies, lend to their neighbours, raise children who inherit their habits, quarrel, split off and sometimes starve. Nobody scripts the story. You can watch it unfold, or take a colony's purse and step in.
What happens here
Every agent needs food and energy each day. Everything else (jobs, prices, loans, families, feuds) follows from that.
-
Work
Farm, mine, make energy, craft goods. The land regrows, unless it's worked too hard.
-
Trade
Markets clear every day. Haulers carry goods to whichever colony pays more.
-
Raise families
Children inherit a parent's habits, a little changed, and a few hard-won lessons.
-
Split and fall
Houses that lose faith in their colony leave to found their own. Many don't last a year.
Does thinking help?
Some founding families make their decisions with a language model instead of fixed rules. Each season runs the same world twice, once with them thinking and once without, so the difference is the model's doing.
